life in the first ten days

The first weekend in Ghana I spent with Christina and Mavis.
Christina is already here for four month and Mavis is her best Ghanaian friend.

Thousands of young people at the beach after the independence celebration

It was  very impressive to see so many people being full of life and playing soccer, wrestling, trying backflips, swimming…
The Ghanaan culture has an understanding of freedom of expression. Often they play, sing and dance just as they feel – jump up and dance, just because it is inside of them, now worry how it looks. And if someone is doing it very freely, the others show respect. They have a strong sense for it. As a white person, I even felt special respect for moving freely. This aspect makes me feel in Ghana like a fish in the water.
