Kumasi

I went with Opoku, my co-worker for a weekend to Kumasi. A friend of his had his wedding.

First comes the traditional wedding, where the two families meet and the dowry is exchanged. Kind of the move of the bride from on family into the other and the compensation for that.

The numer one fetish priest in the Ashanti Kingdom. He is in the spirit at the moment. That means you don’t see the human being. It is the spirit that is acting through his body. Those ceremonies include a lot of drumming and trance dancing.
